Under the leadership of Md. Monowar Hossain Munna, a 7th-semester student of the Faculty of Agriculture at Patuakhali Science and Technology University (PSTU), the UNICEF-sponsored YAG Cascade Training was successfully completed in two phases. The first phase was held on November 14, 15, and 16, while the second phase took place on February 13, 14, and 15.
From September 2 to 6, the UNICEF Regional Office for South Asia (ROSA) organized the Youth Champion Training Program in Kathmandu, Nepal. The core theme of this program was “Youth Advocacy Champion Training: Strengthening and Supporting Youth-Led Advocacy in South Asia.” In this context, session facilitator Monowar Hossain Munna shared the knowledge he gained from the Kathmandu training with students at PSTU.
The entire session was conducted by Md. Monowar Hossain Munna, with 50 students participating in the program over two phases. The primary goal of the program was to develop leadership skills among students and enhance their ability to solve various social issues.
Participants were engaged in tasks, workshops, and team activities, which helped them identify social barriers and find ways to overcome them. One of the participants, Suchi Das, expressed her thoughts: “Workshops like this encourage open-minded discussions and socialization. Many thanks to the organizers, and I hope to see more constructive workshops at PSTU in the future.”
At the end of the program, participants were awarded certificates. Additionally, university students Nafis Uddin, Anirban Saha, and Arnab Samaddar supervised the event.
